Meet The Doctor

Dr. Ryan grew up in a small farm community in Iowa. It was there he learned family values, community commitment, and the ethics of hard work. He obtained a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in psychology from the University of Iowa and then continued with dental school in Iowa City where he earned a Doctorate of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree. Dr. Ryan then moved to Chapel Hill, NC, where he studied to earn a Masters (M.S.) degree in Orthodontics and Pediatric Dentistry. Following his long education journey, he moved to Asheville, NC, where he has practiced for over twenty years. He loves the challenge of treatment planning each orthodontic case and then seeing the results, amazing smiles, and even sometimes tears of joy at the end of treatment. When not straightening teeth, Dr. Ryan loves spending time with his family and friends, traveling, reading, and even playing a few rounds of golf.
